STILL HERE 2012 is an annual publication containing
editorials and pictorials submitted by our Native
American Community. Our story is written by our people
in their own words and pictures.
The STILL HERE Publication
In 2008 the publication STILL HERE was began. In part
to help educate the general public to Native American
culture, heritage, activities . We encourage Tribal Groups,
Native American run Organizations & Businesses
and Individuals, to submit the information that will ultimately become the copy of that
year's edition. We collect and compile stories, news, poems, photos, flyers of events
and other information of interest to the readers. Most of this information has been
submitted by Native American people throughout the USA and even from those now
living in other countries.
Within these pages you will meet featured people who tell their story. Many photos from
powwows and the faces of people from coast to coast and border to border. You will
learn about the many diversities among tribal groups as well as the similarities that bind
all together
Native American People telling about Native American people. Who better to speak of
heritage, culture and history.
We issue complimentary copies of the edition to all who have submitted a photo or
shared some written words in the form of wisdom, a story, poem or quotable. Copies of
this edition are also sent to participating groups, organizations, Native American owned
businesses and Tribes for sale to help raise funds for specific projects. In addition we
also send copies to public school libraries so children who may not have the opportunity
to be exposed to a powwow or meet a member of the extended Native American
community, might learn about America's First people, from America's First people. We
select from hundreds of photos and stories submitted to try and provide a good overview
for each yearly edition letting you the reader meet some wonderful people and know that
the Native American Community is "Still Here".
This year's edition is focusing on Education. Old Stories and New opportunities for
College Financial Assistance and more. We also pay $500 to the winning submitted
photo, if we use your photo for the cover. I hope you enjoy this year's Edition as much as
I did compiling the many stories and
photos.

by our Native American Community to educate the general
public as well as leave a permanent record for many

It's about time!
WHY PARTICIPATE?
This is a chance to say what you would like to share with others in our Native American
Community and beyond.  We like to keep the editions upbeat and positive and try to avoid
using this as a political forum or insult others.
  • If you are an Individual who always wanted to publish your words, poems songs
    or stories Here is your chance.  
  • If you are a Native American Business owner wishing to let others know what you
    do , your craft, art or services her is your chance.
  • If you are an Organization or Tribe you can promote your gatherings, powwows,
    casinos or history to  other Tribal people and many others.
  • If you are a Petitioning Tribe we allow you to use this publication as part of your
    application showing Inter Tribal involvement and participation.
  • If you would like to share pictures of new centers, facilities, powwows, honored
    elders, or your own image we welcome all photo submission. We will try to use as
    many as we can.
  • All Who share something either a single photo or more will receive a FREE STILL
    HERE 2012 Edition. We even pay for postage.
  • IF YOU ARE SELECTED AS OUR COVER IMAGE this year... we will pay  $500 to
    You, someone else, an organization, tribe or school of your choice.
  • Lastly we file a special ISBN number that will forever add this publication to the
    US Library of Congress. A permanent page in history for our future generation
    to see.
